Best WordPress Hosting Convesio

Last updated on December 14th, 2022

WordPress is considered one of the best platforms to use when starting your own website. It’s free, it’s easy to use, and you can add a ton of add-ons and gadgets to fit out your website.

So, it’s easy to see how 43% of all websites on the internet use WordPress.

Best WordPress Hosting Convesio

However, an easy thing a lot of people overlook when using WordPress to build and publish their websites is to find a good web hosting server (see also, ‘How to Update Plex on Synology NAS‘).

This website is supported by readers like you. If you purchase after clicking one of our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

One of the most highly recommended WordPress hosting servers is Convesio but is it really all it’s chalked up to be?

Here, I am going to go through everything you need to know about Convesio to see if this service is worth your consideration.

What Is Convesio?

First, let’s take a look at what Convesio is.

Convesio is a managed WordPress hosting platform first founded back in 2018. So, it’s relatively new but it was set up by an expired product developer and marketer Tom Fanelli.

Fanelli worked with websites for over two decades and during that time, he felt the same kind of anxieties we all do when it comes to managing an online website.

To try and make the process easier for everyone, Fanelli built his own web hosting provider to catch up with the latest technology and offer an efficient platform that ticked all the boxes.

As Fanelli got to work, he kept several key ideas in mind which he wanted his web hosting provider to have. It needed to be affordable, secure, scalable, easy to use, and powerful.

To achieve this, Convesio uses a container based approach to help keep websites on shared servers safe – no matter what happens to their neighbors.

These containers also share the load to eliminate the risks of a single point of failure. This means that your website is kept safe while up and running 24 hours, 7 days a week.

At least, that’s what Convesio claims – but is this company all talk and no action?

I wanted to see for myself if these claims that Convesio is the best WordPress hosting provider are true. So, I tested out their services myself and you can find the results below.

Convesio’s WordPress Hosting Services

The main draw of Convesio is its hosting services for WordPress websites.

If you were hoping to use Convesio to host another website of yours from a different platform then you are out of luck. Convesio only works with WordPress hosting – so already that is something that’s going to limit a lot of potential customers.

On the other hand, you can look at this and take it to mean that Convesio are experts when it comes to WordPress hosting as it’s what their company focuses entirely on.

Plus, WordPress is one of the most popular website building platforms with 43% of all 1.8 billion websites active worldwide using WordPress.

So, that means that even though Convesio is WordPress-exclusive, that still leaves their services open to a lot of businesses.

Let’s take a look at what Convesio is offering as a WordPress host.

How Convesio Works

Convesio is a managed WordPress hosting service which means that all of the tedious tasks of configuring, troubleshooting, and so on, are all handled by your web host.

For small websites such as blogs or personal websites, a managed web host is not necessary but large-sale businesses definitely need to check out this kind of hosting service.

What sets Convesio apart from other managed WordPress hosting providers is its use of Docker contaminants.

I touched on this a little bit in the previous section but I want to go more in depth here because it’s such a core part of what Convesio does.

Convesio uses Docker technology to store the resources and files of each WordPress website separately in containers on a server.

The containers store your website’s files but drop anything unnecessary so they are more portable and take up less memory.

This means that WordPress websites hosted on the same server are no longer fighting each other for resources. They each have their own container.

The Pros of Convesio’s WordPress Hosting Services

Did one part of your website randomly go down? No worries, a new container is deployed and it’s back up and running immediately.

Did your website suddenly get a massive jump in traffic? More containers are deployed to help handle it.

66% of customers agree that a frustrating experience online influences how they view a business overall, so a poorly-run website can have a huge impact on your business’s success.

In fact, one study found that 84% of consumers are less likely to make a purchase if their online experience is ‘poor’.

Using Docker technology and containers means that your WordPress website gets a lot of the advantages of a virtual private server (VPS) without the expense.

The reason why other web hosting companies don’t seem to use this kind of technology is due to its complexity but Convesio handles all that for you as it’s a managed hosting service.

Convesio spreads your website’s content across rather than piling it all in one place. This has additional advantages including a faster setup speed, automatic scalability, and a high quality performance for your website visitors.

Overall, this is pretty fantastic. If you are someone who is not ‘techy’ and you’re worried about the managing part of web hosting, then opting for Convesio does seem like a good choice.

Their WordPress hosting services are very impressive – but there is a downside.

…And The Cons

The model Convesio uses for its WordPress hosting services is a complex one and it will take a lot of experts for this model to keep running smoothly around the clock.

All of this means that Convesio needs to hire the best of the best to supply you with such a high quality web hosting service. This leads to one issue – the cost.

Money right now is one of the biggest concerns for businesses all around the world. 38% of startup businesses fail because they ran out of cash and failed to raise new capital.

Plus, inflation and taxes are two of the largest worries for small businesses according to a recent article from Forbes.

So, businesses everywhere are trying to cut costs by finding the most affordable services available.

The cost of Convesio’s web hosting services is pretty pricey when you compare it with some other popular web hosting providers. It’s understandable as Convesio offers so much in terms of scalability and security.

However, I can’t deny it’s tempting to go with a more affordable option, especially when you’re a startup business trying to make as much profit as you can to keep your business running.

Clearly, this kind of provider is not designed for small startups. This kind of provider is here for companies who are growing and growing, and need that scalability and high performance – and they can probably afford it too!

Convesio’s Best Features

But Convesio is not all about WordPress hosting, even though that is the main purpose of its business. It does offer you additional features and resources you can also take advantage of to help your website grow.

So, let’s take a look at what’s on offer.

Automatic Upscaling With CDN Network

Scalability is a big concern for a lot of businesses. As your business grows, you want the tools and services you use to handle the increase in traffic – but not all web hosting providers automatically upscale without you needing to upgrade to another plan.

Convesio will handle all the upscaling you need automatically whenever the situation calls for it. When traffic increases, Convesio employs extra containers to handle the issue so your website remains up and running.

You don’t have to worry about signing up to a new plan to cover your sudden demand for extra server resources. All of that is handled for you by Convesio and there’s no limit to hardware resources either.

If the increase in traffic is momentary and you no longer need the extra containers Convesio employed to keep your website functioning, then they will automatically downscale.

This is a great feature that is super handy for a lot of WordPress businesses. You only pay for what you use, so the cost of your web hosting service will run in line with your traffic.

You don’t have to keep paying for those extra containers after they are no longer useful – Convesio will remove them for you and you get an instant reduction in cost.

In my opinion this is a big benefit Convesio has over its competitors. For example, imagine you were using a web hosting service which offered extra resources through different payment plans.

If there was a sudden jump in traffic and your plan did not offer enough resources to handle that, then you have two options – either your website will struggle (and this can damage your business’s brand and reputation) or you can quickly upgrade your plan.

However, if those resources are no longer necessary, you could end up paying more for resources you no longer need before you are able to downgrade your plan again!

If you are worried about the cost of Convesio suddenly going through the roof due to automatic upscaling, then Convesio offers the ability to set limits to the number of containers Convesio will deploy for your website.

Plus, you can also set the thresholds that trigger up and downscaling so Convesio will only scale your website with your consent. This means that you can stay within your budget at all times and avoid any nasty surprises on your invoice.

So, automatic upscaling takes a lot of stress of business’s minds. Not only does it help ensure your website is up and running all the time but it also means that you are only paying for what you use!

Speed With No Plugins

Load times are a super important area of running any website, yet alone a WordPress site. If your pages won’t load quickly, then your visitors will more likely grow frustrated and impatient.

This negatively affects their experience with your website and are more likely to leave and not return, yet alone be converted into paying customers or subscribers.

A four second delay in page load speeds can lead to a 11% page view loss, while decreasing a loading time from eight seconds to two results in a 74% conversion rate increase.

As a result, load times are a major concern for a lot of businesses. WordPress sites are prone to downtimes and speed issues due to its huge popularity – and the related congestion that comes with it.

To try and boost their website’s load times, WordPress websites usually set up plugins to help optimize their speed and avoid downtimes.

But, with Convesio, it’s already built into the platform.

This means that you don’t have to worry about searching for the right plugin to boost your WordPress website’s load times and speed. Convesio handles that for you.

It’s a provider specifically designed for WordPress sites so most of the concerns (like speed optimization) are covered by the platform.

However, if you still want to use speed optimization plugins for your WordPress site, then you still have the ability to do so. Convesio won’t limit your access to plugins but it does help eliminate the need for some.

Heightened Security Tactics

Another huge concern for WordPress sites is security.

30,000 websites are hacked every day and nearly half (43%) of cybercrimes are against small and medium businesses.

They can cause serious damage to your business either by destroying all of your hard work and rendering your website unusable, or by leaking your customer’s details and making them more hesitant to engage with your website.

So, without good security, you can lose your business overnight!

Convesio definitely values security and as a result, they have multiple tactics in place to help keep its users’ websites safe and secure.

This ranges from 24/7 monitoring to detect any suspicious activity or malware, free daily backups, and using isolated containers to prevent infection between different websites on the same server.

This means that for every second your website is up and running, it is monitored and protected with a team ready to handle any issues immediately.

You also have the ability to monitor your website yourself and approve changes before Convesio makes them. You can create a staging site, customize the backup retention time, and decide how often your backups are created.

So, you get to play an important part in your website’s security and make changes to match your preferences.

Convesio also uses other plugins and apps to their advantage too. This means that there’s no compromise when it comes to your website’s security.

They use additional apps like Patchman and Human Presence to continuously scan and detect any malware or vulnerabilities in your website.

All of this means that businesses using Convesio can have total peace of mind when it comes to security.

Responsive Customer Support

Responsive Customer Support

When things go wrong, you will probably need to contact your WordPress hosting provider’s customer service – but not all customer services are equal in quality.

Thankfully, Convesio offers great customer support when it comes to migration, installation, management, testing, and more.

A lot of the tricky parts of running a WordPress website is already handled by them but even for the parts you manage yourself, you can still reach out to Convesio for help and support.

Their support service is open 24 hours, 7 days a week, so you can get the help you need no matter the time of day.

Their website states that they usually respond to queries in under 5 minutes but when I tried this for myself, I sometimes had to wait around 8 minutes for a reply.

Personally, I wasn’t too put off by this. I know that every second counts when there’s an issue with your website (as downtime costs a small business an average of $427 per minute) but I have also seen some web hosting providers take hours to get back to me.

So, compared to other customer services I have experienced, Convesio’s far from being the worst!

The quality of the support I received was also super helpful. Any issues I found were flagged up and addressed, and any questions I had were answered and explained in full. Overall, I had a great experience!

Easy Setup And Dashboard Experience

When a web host offers too many services, this can result in a cluttered dashboard and hard to navigate website. However, Convesio wanted their service to be as user friendly as possible – and I can safely say that they achieved that.

Signing up to Convesio took only a few minutes and then you get the option of watching a 15 minute introduction video or a 50-minute demo with an engineer.

This is a great feature to offer as I believe this could seriously help out those who are not only new to Convesio, but to web hosting in general.

It explains future steps and what you can expect while you wait for your account to be approved.

After that, you will find a dashboard that is easy to navigate and clutter-free. Everything is sorted under visible menus and headings.

Checking out my security options, seeing how many containers my website is using, and my domains – I never struggled to find the information I wanted.

So, if you are sick of cluttered dashboards and not knowing where to find the information or tools you need, Convesio is a hosting provider for you to check out.

Convesio Pricing

Now, let’s talk about cost.

I mentioned earlier how the prices of Convesio can be a huge turn-off for a lot of businesses and by taking a look at the plans yourself, you can see why.

A lot of Convesio’s competitors offer basic or starter plans from as little as a few dollars a month – while Convesio’s basic starter plan kicks off at a whopping $50. Yikes!

However, the reason why is because Convesio is not made to cater to small businesses and blogs.

Although WordPress is most commonly used for these purposes, Convesio have designed their hosting services to better suit larger businesses who still use the platform.

In fact, most of their plans are called ‘Business Plans’ or ‘Enterprise Plans’ and come in different levels for scalability.

What this means is that Convesio is not affordable for a lot of WordPress small businesses – but it’s a great deal if you are running a growing business on the platform!

Instead of having to migrate to a different platform to meet your website’s growing needs, you can just migrate to Convesio as your hosting platform and get all the benefits necessary for your business to continue growing.

Check out the grids below for more details!

There is only one level of the Starter Plan, recommended for content websites and blogs.

Unfortunately, there’s little on offer here (there’s not even any free autoscaling!) and for a price that is much higher than Convesio’s competitors.

Convesio’s business plans range from supporting small businesses with steady sales, to businesses which are rapidly growing and need better scalability.

This is where Convesio starts to become more affordable than its competitors because it offers more in terms of benefits and features for a lower cost.

When you use other web hosting servers, you would have to pay separately to access the apps and tools Convesio uses.

For example, Patchman charges its users around $75 a month for consistent monitoring and scanning, while Redis charges $100 a month for its caching services.

Convesio, however, uses all of these and you can access their benefits for a much lower total cost.

So, as your WordPress business grows, so do the benefits of signing up to Convesio.

These plans from Convesio are designed for the businesses which handle thousands of customers every single month.

With high traffic and still growing at a rapid rate, these plans are ideal for enterprises who don’t want to leave WordPress for another website platform.

The monthly fees are great value for money as they allow flourishing WordPress businesses to access all the tools, security, and power they need.

However, keep an eye on that set-up fee – it can catch quite a few people out when signing up!

Who Should Try Out Convesio – And Who Should Not

Ultimately, the best WordPress hosting provider varies from business to business. This means that while Convesio will be the best hosting provider for some businesses, it won’t be for others.

Convesio is built to help out WordPress businesses in the publishing, membership, and WooCommerce industries.

Their plans offer great scalability to support your business as it grows, security to keep your customers’ details and information secure from hackers, and improve your website’s functionality even as traffic increases.

This means that if your WordPress business is quickly growing and you need a hosting provider who can support that growth – Convesio has you covered.

It’s also a great choice if you prefer a lot of the technicalities of managing a WordPress site handled for you so you can focus on other areas of your business.

Convesio offers a lot of automation and managed hosting services so you can have peace of mind knowing the technical stuff is handled for you.

However, its high prices means that smaller businesses and WordPress blogs will probably find a more affordable deal elsewhere.

Sure, Convesio offers some great features but they are most beneficial when you sign up to their business plans – not their starter plan.

This means that Convesio is not an answer-for-all WordPress hosting provider even though it has a ton of great features some businesses can definitely benefit from.

Best WordPress Hosting Alternatives

Best WordPress Hosting Alternatives

If you fall into the category of businesses that should look elsewhere for the right WordPress hosting service, then here are some alternatives I’d like to recommend!

Check them out, and perhaps you will find the right one for you here!

BlueHost

BlueHost is the WordPress hosting provider to try out if you want great value for money. The company words incredibly closely with WordPress to help provide reliability and up to date security.

Its WordPress hosting plans start from as little as $2.75 a month, with plans that range in cost and features to suit every kind of WordPress website’s needs.

Even blogs and small businesses can find a plan that is suitable for them at BlueHost.

For ease of use, there’s automatic installation and updates, your business gets verified on Google’s My Business (see also, ‘Why isn’t My Business Showing Up on Google?‘), you get a free domain name for your 1st year, and so much more.

So, BlueHost has a lot to offer but it isn’t perfect. It doesn’t have the scalability of Convesio and its payment plans may be advertised as ‘monthly’ but you have to sign up to a year’s agreement.

So, if you’re not happy with BlueHost after a few months of trying it out – you’re stuck with it until the end of the year.

Despite that, I think that its affordability makes it a great hosting provider for small blogs and websites on WordPress. Once your business grows, you can then start to look elsewhere for better alternatives.

Kinsta

If it’s a fast and secure WordPress website you are after, then you need to check out Kinsta.

It’s another managed WordPress hosting provider which handles a lot of the tricky tasks for you, so it’s a great place to start if you’re not familiar with the technicalities of running a WordPress website.

There’s also plans which offer features and better prices for small businesses and blogs so their services are accessible to a lot of people.

Other benefits Kinsta offers are its automatic daily backups, its own content delivery network (CDN) for super speeds, and free SSL.

Although Kinsta doesn’t have the automatic scalability that comes with Convesio, it is very flexible if you ever want to upgrade or downgrade your payment plans.

With no fixed term contracts, you get to personalize your payment plan to suit your schedule and you get access to two months free to trial Kinsta’s services and benefits.

HostGator

HostGator is a WordPress hosting provider which also offers managed hosting so its users have more peace of mind. Their main goal is simplicity while offering plenty of support to its users and high quality features that suits all kinds of businesses.

If you’re a complete beginner, then HostGator has automatic installation, a simplified control panel, and free site domains and migration for you to play with.

You don’t get to miss out on important features due to your lack of experience. Here, you still get great security and speeds all under one easy to use platform.

So, HostGator is the beginner-friendly WordPress hosting platform I would recommend if you are just starting out in this industry.

Once you get a better idea of how things work, you can start to be more adventurous and have a better idea of what you want from your WordPress hosting service.

Final Thoughts

So, is Convesio the best WordPress hosting provider out there?

The answer all depends on what type of business you are running and how fast it is growing.

Convesio definitely has a lot to offer in terms of scalability, hosting, power, and security, but only medium and large businesses with a fast growth rate can truly benefit from them.

This is because Convesio is not affordable when it comes to their lower plans, especially when compared to competition like HostGator and BlueHost.

So, if you are a fast-growing WordPress business, then Convesio is definitely worth your time and attention.

If not, then check out some of the recommendations above to find a WordPress hosting provider better suited to your business’s needs!

I hope this guide has been helpful for you and your business!
